As I write this review is turning into the player the wonderful "No Ceiling", sung by Eddie Vedder and the equally wonderful is the soundtrack of the film I will talk about Into the Wild, directed by Sean Penn. The film is inspired
the true story of Christopher McCandless, a young man who completed his studies he decided to drop everything and go to the wilds of Alaska, not without first having traveled to the States and be finished in Mexico.
Its not a simple escape for freedom but for the Truth, is not a simple rejection of modernity but of cages and social slavery that it generates, with the myths of money, social status as the only yardstick to judge a man .
In this search for himself, Christopher will meet many like him in some way have made her choice, but chose different ways to live: a couple of hippies, a group of American farmers, an elderly ex-soldier American ... from all of them but the boy will learn something at the end will understand what may really matter. The film
S. Penn tells us all this by giving the director the right rhythm to events, with a fine photo capturing the magic of the American landscape, giving us intact the complexity of the characters without ever being banal.
Emile Hirsch, the actor who plays McCandless, is very good at transmitting the efforts, human and physical location of this young but not naive idealist.
Excellent choice of subtitles, lyrics of beautiful music for the film.
Into the Wild is a necessary film for those chasing a dream by bringing into play or wanted to do for those who still did not understand what to look for and if it really wants to find something for people who love America.
Or more simply, a masterpiece.
