2006: the first release! 2006: THE FIRST EXIT
After having published the two outputs so far in 2009, we begin to go back in time ... Precisely at September 22, 2006, in that of
MACUGNAGA!
MACUGNAGA ... La Perla del Rosa. So reads the welcome sign at the place of Borca (small village just Macugnaga!), And well to understand that we are, once you arrive in country, in an incredible spectacle of nature: the East Face of Monte Rosa.
Already, the first release was made right there, where so many important names of Italian and world have left their mark!
Our goal is to reach Pecetto (departure of the chair, closed on that day) Bivouac at least Belloni, to 2510 meters. Then on, we leave, the hours are 08:00 and Rosa is waiting for us!
Once at the Belvedere (terminal station of the chairlift), there imcamminiamo and we cross the glacier, here covered with stones and then traveled safely, starting to walk a long valley that will lead us then to the bivouac.
This picture is still recovering from the Belvedere glacier in the background, in a central location, you can see the glacier Castelfranco, named by the tower.
Here in the valley ... The landscape starts and be even more impressive, the east wall is getting closer!
begin to gain altitude ... In two hours we got up to 700 meters, we are now at about 2100 meters above sea level!
the east wall approaches again ...
Before reaching the bivouac Belloni, since they are only 11:00, we decided to go a little '... So here is the decision to approach the glacier Casterlfranco This year the snow has been poor this season winter and hot in September allows us to do everything!
a brief passage near the river that drains water literally frozen!
Stepping up: we have just left the junction leading to Belloni ...
Stefano, now it's time to eat: The last piece was tiring, we had to climb using your hands, now, even having the time, the sandwich must be swallowed! But first a look at this spectacle of nature: the Tower of Castelfranco and the glacier. We are about 2650 meters high.
Here's the latest photos, rightly devoted to the Bivouac Belloni: Here we go alone, but never recorded on the book of CAI our adventure.
The trip there and back took about 7h 30, the starting level was 1390 meters (Pecetto), and the arrival of Calstelfranco under the glacier, at 2650 meters. E 'was hard, but not binding. Chair lifts were open, we'd probably bet on the saddle. But it will be for next time!
