What Is I-cats Immobilizer

First Grade: Crystalline Misurina

It's cold up here on top: after the snow, which took us suddenly as we were climbing up those big stones that are white and gray with giant steps to the summit and, thankfully, is gone soon, predicts the wind, with a big black cloud, the next temperature change. The thermometer marks + 7 ° C. It seems to be on top of a huge block of flats overlooking the valley of Landro with its lake and the mountains around, especially the Croda Rossa in all its splendor blood. A small wooden cross and an equally small statue of the Virgin Mary witness the religious dimension of the important peaks.
First Instance (I), EEA, A, F +, etc.etc. are the symbols that distinguish this rise: as long as you do not, do not touch with hand what it means. Right at the start of the climb, I cling to a recess that acts as a foothold to pull myself up and pass a large boulder. After you go non-stop: a few more would have spoiled little man: I was forced to make a couple of "Zompi" not nice to pick up the thread of the track (the original one of the best alpine, but reduced to a stump of iron, often hidden among the stones). The metal rings are useful to indicate the location (because no ropes are useless). After a fight with my poncho anti-snow who always wanted to stay on the soles of my boots, we turned up on a wooden bridge a little 'shaky that took us on a zig-zag rather than vertical reach just below the summit, the remains of the camps of the First Italian War, with both still viable and caves full of remains of all kinds. The rocky peaks above us threatening the way up, are now much lower, slender fingers raised to the sky. La Sella Popena with the ruins of the former lodge is a small dot on the huge hump in the green Popena Basso. There is a couple of Austrians with only a backpack, just off the pace. Vanish like shadows and do not see each other again during our descent, had almost disappeared nothing.
Just another small effort and we climb on top of us too, perched on a pair of blocks is not very comfortable and quite sheer. We are on top of that piece of the world: the highest, behind us, only the crystal (with the same name that seems to pass to reach with a jump) and the Piz Popena. In
down try not to drop stones, to prevent damage to our Austrian predecessors, but there is no trace of them. However, everything runs smoothly. At the base of the mountain, take the trail to the Valley of Popena which leads us to cross the road from Carbonin. After just over two kilometers, half asphyxiated by exhaust fumes of the campers, we get the car left unattended in the morning.
Today was a great day started well, with the discovery of a character tied to my memories of family that I did not imagine to meet. The store owner Lavaredo Sport Misurina, I entered by accident, is John Pais Becher, great climber and mountain guide, I had seen years ago in some TV documentaries in which, together with my fellow countryman Gaston Lorenzini, climbed to the tops world: my father gave voice to their story. It 'was a nice way to remember him.
